We need your support to help migrants from Ukraine who live in collective places.

They need care for children, counselling, coverage of relocation costs to other countries, job search assistance.

Since 24 February 2022, we have been looking at the world in a different way. We feel a lot of insecurity, we are afraid to plan and enjoy.

Recent weeks have also shown the importance of the work performed by non-governmental organizations. Volunteers and social activists have shown their strength in the face of the crisis.

Since the first days of the war, our PISOP Center Association has also been involved in supporting refugees from Ukraine. Initially, we operated on a small scale, but with time we were chosen as coordinators managing the Social Crisis Staff in Greater Poland.

Overnight, we had to reorganize the daily work in the Association and coordinate the activities of volunteers and social organizations in halls 7 and 7a of the Poznań International Fair.

We started looking after over 800 Ukrainians at the same time, mainly women with children, elderly people and people with disabilities.

It was up to us whether they would have something to eat, drink or feel safe.

The sense of responsibility kept our coordinator awake at night, and the priorities of activities were quickly re-evaluated.

In the face of such a great tragedy, we were unable to run our day-to-day operations, train and advise other organizations. It has become a daily routine to ask companies and private persons for food, hygiene products, medicines...

This is how over 6 weeks of our work have passed.

We managed only thanks to the support and involvement of many companies, social organizations, and dozens of volunteers.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Unfortunately, the war is still going on, and the situation in the places of collective residence is also changing.

Currently, the needs are related to:

- counselling – the longer Ukrainians live in the hall, the greater the needs will be, there are also more and more people who have seen the war with their own eyes and need psychological aid...

- time management for children and adolescents – mothers want to work, they need money, but the children must be looked after for at least 8 hours, and there is a shortage of spaces in the Poznań kindergartens

- work organization – some want to stay and work in Poland, but they need preparation, sometimes training and, above all, support when looking for a job

- organization of relocation to other countries – not everyone wants to or may live for an indefinite period of time in a collective hall, sometimes diseases, disabilities significantly hinder the already difficult conditions, and there is a shortage of housing in Poznań and its surrounding areas

- support for people with special needs – also people with disabilities come to us. They require special care, sometimes help in everyday activities or rehabilitation. It is difficult to fully meet their needs in the hall.

HELP US HELP!

SEE WHOM WE'VE ALREADY HELPED!

Maria, who is in a wheelchair, could not take a bath for approx. 2 weeks because there are no bathrooms adapted to the needs of people with disabilities at the fair premises.

WE HELPED with arranging transportation and bathing at the Social Welfare Home.

A mum reported that her son Dmytro is in the autism spectrum, and in the hall there are boxes for an average of 20 people, they could not stay there.

WE HELPED with finding a place for her at a family, so that they could be guaranteed peace of mind.

A trip of 10 Ukrainians from Poznań to Germany was organized, including Yulia who was 4 months pregnant. When they arrived, it turned out that no one was waiting for them there, they had nowhere to live.

WE HELPED with organizing a hotel stay and work in this hotel.

Many other stories relate to the relocation of Ukrainians to other EU countries.

WE HELPED with organizing

We helped with organizing a trip to Ireland for a young mother, Oxana, with four children, the oldest one is 12 years old, the youngest one is still breastfed, with her sister-in-law Svetlana, also with 2 small children,

trips of many people to France, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands.

Each place of relocation is checked by the Poznań City Hall and the police.

We were very shocked by the story of our volunteer Monika, who talked to a Ukrainian woman in the hall, when she suddenly heard a plane that was flying to the Ławica Airport and she was so scared that she instantly hid under a trolley for transporting materials to the warehouse...
